Tips on translating hieroglyphics ...
The hieroglyphic alphabet is based on phonetics. Therefore, a name such as "Tracy" would be spelled "Trasy". Letter combinations of "sh" and "ch" are represented by the pool symbol. This is pronounced with a soft sound as in "Sharon". For a name with a hard "ch" pronunciation as in "Michael", use individual "c" and "h" symbols. Use the rope symbol for "th" when the sound is soft as in "Theo". For the hard sound, as in "Theresa", use individual "t" and "h" symbols. Some letters have more than one symbol and since the pronunciation is identical, you may select the symbol of your choice.
If you enough room on your cartouche, you may also choose to add extra hieroglyphics. You can select from: Nefertiti, Ankh, Udjat Eye, Lotus, Man, Woman, Scarab or Health Life and Happiness.
